I don't know if you watched the NASCAR race from the Glen but sitting during the red flags while they fixed the fences was terrible. We have a pretty good clean up crew though.

No, the NASCAR race I skipped to race my own car at Pocono. My friend went to the race and was pretty put off by the red flags. However, such is life with close metal guardrails and fast cars.

I was more put off by the crowds than the reds. Then again I'm so much more used to sports and vintage car racing which doesn't really draw as large of a crowd.

Yep, totally agreed. It's why I usually skip that race now. The 6 Hr this year was borderline with the fact that you HAD to park outside unless you camped. I am glad I went though, it's not too often I go to a track now and don't race or volunteer.

Yeah the parking was stupid but I got around it, fuck yeah camping at the track, but the weekend shouldn't be missed. If you ever get a chance camping at Watkins Glen International is one of the best things ever. Pricey yes, worth it, hells yeah. Quiet, nice people, nice car, fireworks on Saturday night. Lots of great things about it.
I'd love to race (no monies :( ) as it's my dream career or volunteer but I love just watching better. I'm gonna try to get into racing in some way after school is finished. I've grown up around sports car racing and just love it.

I know that SCCA and NASA never turn away volunteers. What do you like to do? I'm sure there is a specialty that you would like to do. For me, I can go to WGI and sleep in my own bed at night. Needless to say, if there is an SCCA event, I'm probably at the track.
